WCLI's group lessons provide an affordable and structured approach to learn Chinese. In a small class setup (7-10 students), students are expected to learn pronunciation, speaking, listening, Chinese characters, sentence structure and reading comprehension, and Chinese culture. There will be a testing and placement for those who have completed some Chinese language course elsewhere.
WCLI offers 5 levels of Chinese language courses. Each level consists of two sub levels, A & B, and each sub level requires 30 hours to complete. Course descriptions are in the following:

1.     Course 1A 
Description:
This course is designed for beginners. The main objective of this course is the acquisition of basic Chinese vocabulary and sentence patterns. After completion of this course, students will be able to conduct simple conversations in Chinese on limited topics such as exchange of personal information, asking directions, discussion about work, etc.

Fee: $675  (books, CD, and materials are included in fee)
Date: 1/15/2007 - 3/16/2007, 10 weeks
Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, or 6:30 - 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday & Thursday

 
2.     Course 1B
Description:
This course is a continuation of Chinese 1A . Students will continue learning basic Chinese vocabulary and sentence patterns, practicing their skills in speaking, listening, writing, and reading. After completion of this course, students will be able to:
      - To provide and obtain information concerning date of birth, phone number, address, and etc.
      - To identify location of objects and people
      - To carry out simple conversations while shopping
      - To order food at a restaurant
      - To carry out a conversation on the phone

3.     Chinese Perspectives (workshop)
Description: A series of Chinese Perspectives workshop will be conducted covering many interesting topics relating to Chinese customs and business practices. The workshops will be conducted on a regular basis and a nominal fee will be charged.
