10:00AM at he trail head parking area in Route 106.

Hiking level:

Level B (5.5 miles)

Trail description:

  • This trail starts from Route 106 parking area going uphill along the Red trail mark for approximately 30 minutes.  This is the only difficult path for this trail.
  • Will cross Tom Jones and Parker Cabin Mountain and then reach the Lake Sekenonto, which is a nice place for lunch.
  • Some beautiful view point, bring your camera and enjoy fall foliage.
  • Will be back to packing area by 4:00 pm.

Things need to carry:

Lunch, water, first aids, hand sanitizer, rain coat.

Direction to the trail head parking area (from NYC):

  • George Washington Bridge (Upper level)
  • Palisades Parkway (North)
  • Exit 14, turn left onto Willow Grove Road (Route 98 West)
  • Merge Route 106 (West)
  • Will pass a junction cycle (Route 106 & Seven Lake Drive)
  • Continue take Rt. 106, after 1.5 miles, the small parking area on your right.

Direction to the trail head parking area (From Rt. 17 North)

  • Route 17 (North) to the town Sloatsburg
  • Trun right onto Seven Lake Drive
  • Continue on Seven Lake Drive.  Will meet a junction cycle.
  • Take Rt. 106 (West, which is at your left side) at the junction cycle.
  • Contine take Rt.106, after 1.5 miles, the small parking area on your right.

 

Harriman State Park, located in Rockland and Orange counties, is the second-largest park in the parks system, with 31 lakes and reservoirs, 200 miles of hiking trails, three beaches, two public camping areas, a network of group camps, miles of streams and scenic roads, and scores of wildlife species, vistas and vantage points. Harriman State Park's major facilities include Lakes Welch, Sebago, Tiorati and Silvermine, the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, Sebago Cabins and Beaver Pond Campgrounds.
