Dear NCKU alumni,
This is Jerry Cheng, newly elected president of NCKUAANA (北美洲成大校友會聯合會). I hope this letter finds you healthy and prosperous. In this letter, I'd like to let you know about some upcoming activities that you may be interested in.
In view of the tough financial situation ahead of us, you may be wishing for someone to cover a portion of your children's school tuition. Here is some great news for you. We have two scholarships currently open for application. The first one is a newly established scholarship donated by our distinguished alumnus, Dr. Joseph Wu. It is for children of alumni who are interested in pursuing studies in Chemistry, Physics, Molecular Biology or Mathematics. The second one is the President Nee Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is for your full-time college student. The application deadlines for the upcoming 2010 academic year are May 20th and April 15th, respectively. Please browse http://www.ncku.net for details, and encourage your children to apply.
In November, there is a NCKU Carnival hosted by Taichung Alumni Association. This is a once-every-other-year worldwide alumni reunion. Within the past 12 years, we have been in Kuala Lumpur, Atlanta City, Kaohsiung, Toronto, Taipei, and Los Angeles. Everyone who has participated in these events will tell you the excitement they enjoyed during these big family reunions. This year’s reunion is taking place November 5-7. November 11th also marks the 79th anniversary of our alma mater. We alumni are invited to go back to our school for a huge homecoming celebration. The details about these events will be updated on the website http://www.ncku.net. Please check it often, and plan to join us with your classmates.
The NCKUAANA is an organization dedicated to serving all NCKU alumni in North America. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
Best regards,
Jerry Cheng 鄭向元 (1966 土木 )
